Rotocone Vacuum Dryer: Overview
Rotocone Vacuum Dryer (RCVD) also known as Double Cone Vacuum Dryer is a versatile energy-efficient system used for the drying of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), moist, crystalline, free-flowing, amorphous, heat-sensitive products, in compliance with cGMP and FDA guidelines.
Our RCVD Pilot Systems consists of a fully heated insulated cone that rotates at low speeds and at low temperatures while being subjected to high vacuum, thus giving better product quality with high efficiency.
These systems are especially being used in the Pharmaceutical Industry for the manufacturing of Antibiotics, APIs, Biotechnology, Vitamins, Tablets. Also used in the drying process of Fine Chemicals, Chemicals, Food Grade Additives, and Colorants.

Rotocone Vacuum Dryer Description:
Rotary Cone Vacuum Dryer (RCVD) is a batch dryer. It consists of a cylindrical jacketed shell with jacketed cones welded to either side of the shell rotating on trunnion mounted on one stand (Cantilever Design). The Drive Side trunnion is hollow ,so that hot water can enter the jacket through the hollow trunnion on the drive side of the Dryer, and return water also comes out from the same side through a Rotary valve.
From the non-drive side, vapor generated in the Dryer is extracted from the Roto-cone Dryer, and vapor passes through a cyclone, a condenser and then condensate is collected in the Receiver. A vacuum pump is connected to the Receiver, which creates vacuum inside the Roto-cone Dryer and other accessories connected to the vapor line.
The Dryer revolves on its trunnion, which is supported by heavy duty Bearings and Plummer blocks .It is driven by a Girth gear and Pinion. Gear is mounted on the driving trunnion of the Roto-cone Dryer and Pinion is mounted on the output of a Reduction Gear , which is directly coupled with a motor.
The cyclone is mounted on the skid , Condenser will be mounted directly on the Receiver, which is located on a common skid provided. The system will be pre-piped, insulated and the frame will be mounted on Castor Wheels for easy movement. The FLP Panel enclosed in SS 304 Housing will also be mounted on a suitable location on the frame.
